What makes ZYTE calling different from communication apps?

ZYTE is tailored for business who conduct job site visits. The major difference is that our app doesn't require the person you're calling to download the app (or any video-sharing apps) to connect with you. ZYTE provides an instant solution to receiving video feed without switching apps, ending existing phone calls, or searching for an app that exists on both devices.

What additional features are available?

During video sharing, both users have live pointer functions that enable clear instructions and discussions. Both callers can capture stills from the video feed for their records and future reference.

Users can also take measurements, search maps together, browse websites, share screens, and even record the calls. These tools allow users to gather more information for their site visits and reduce travel costs previously associated with collecting site information.

YOUR SECURITY

Is my data collected?

ZYTE calls are encrypted meaning no one but you and the person you're calling can see the content being shared. ZYTE collects a small amount of analytical data such as bugs, issues, and delays, to improve feature quality. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

How do I know my ZYTE call has ended and I'm no longer sharing content?

Like a normal voice call, if one user hangs up, it will end the call for both devices. Alternatively, either user can switch out of ZYTE calling with one click and all sharing will stop and the call will return to a normal voice call. Remember to end your voice call after you end your ZYTE call.

Does ZYTE share my data?

No, ZYTE cannot see the content of your calls and does not share any information with third parties. See Privacy Policy for details.

CONNECTIVITY

My client often has poor network connection - will ZYTE still work?

ZYTE has features to address connection issues. If video sharing or call quality is poor, ZYTE will allow you to record or capture parts of the call to playback after the call ends.

Does the person I'm calling need to have ZYTE installed?

No. The person you're calling (or has called you) doesn't need to have ZYTE or any video sharing apps installed on their device. ZYTE's clever software will recognise the ongoing call and allow both users to upgrade to ZYTE features.

CALL RECORDING

Does the other person know I'm recording the call?

When you start recording a call, a banner will appear on your caller's screen stating you have started recording the call.

Check the video tutorials for how to record a call.

Can I record the call without the other person's knowledge?

No, this is not possible. Your caller will be notified on their screen when you start recording the call.

What is recorded during my call?

Everything shared within the app is recorded live. Camera, screen, maps, and images are recorded. If the user has switched out of the feature and remains on the home/connected page, the recording will show the last frame of what was previously shared until one of the users starts sharing something else.

Audio is only recorded if both users have switched the call to internet calling (by ending the existing voice call and tapping the ‘continue with internet calling’ icon.

If users have not switched to internet calling, the audio will not be recorded.

How are recorded calls shared?

Recorded calls are shared as MP4 files. You can share the recording using a shareable link.

Where can I find recorded calls?

You can find and play your recordings by opening the app and tapping the history icon on the top bottom.

How can the person without the app access the recorded call?

The recording is always stored inside the app - not on your device. This means if the recording was taken by the web-app user, the app user will need to send it to them using the ‘share’ feature. The recording can be shared through SMS or email shortcut or can copy the link and send it using a different app (e.g. Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber).

Do both users have the ability to start and end recordings?

Yes. The user who is currently sharing has the ability to start and end the recording by tapping the settings icon in the bottom right and tapping the *record* icon to start or stop the recording.

Why is Geo location sometimes inaccurate?

Unfortunately there are limitations with a phone's GPS. They aren't always accurate, there can be delays in updating position, the other person needs to allow location sharing etc. Here’s some of the things that affect the accuracy of geo location:

1) Low Phone Battery: If the other party’s phone has switched to low power mode, geo location is generally disabled.

2) Weak Data signal:

3) Cached position:

What you can do to help:

Refresh the map by pressing on “Maps on their Location” a second time after a minute or so.

If you’re using ZYTE Desktop, share your screen so the other party can see the map with the pointer on their location and tell you if it is accurate.
